Alma R. Schulze

Alma R. Schulze, age 82, of Collinsville, formerly of Tamaroa, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2004 at 8:16 p.m. in Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Alma was born in rural Tamaroa on June 15, 1921, a daughter of Ira and Mary (Brown) Weisel.  She married Olyn A. Schulze on September 13, 1941 in Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death in July 1976.  During her lifetime, Alma was a seamstress privately and at the former Mary Manning Dress Factory, Collinsville, a member of the Illinois Ladies Garment Workers Union and a member of the First Baptist Church, Collinsville.  She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a son, Jon Schulze and wife Dianne of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, James Weisel and wife Mabel of Tamaroa; a sister, Helen L. McElhattan and her long-time friend Dean Klingenberg, both of Creal Springs; two grandchildren, Marissa Schulze of Fort Collins, Colo. and Miles Schulze and wife Chandra of Johnstown, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Aubrey Schulze; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Hutchings of Pinckneyville and Bill Boyd and wife Eileen of Sparta and several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and two sisters, Lela Hutchings and Mildred Emling.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 22 at 10 a.m. in the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville with Pastor Ron Hill, Collinsville, officiating.  Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until services.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Mission Trip.
